US’s Matt Riddle Places Third in 2006 World Barista Championship
After winning the 2006 United States Barista Championship, Matt Riddle represented the United States at the World Barista Championship held in Bern, Switzerland, May 19-21. This year’s international competition featured competitors from 39 different countries. In his first appearance at the WBC, Riddle was selected as one of six Finalists to qualify for the second round of competition. Riddle ultimately brought home the 3rd place trophy, which is the highest finish ever for a participant from the United States.
